Polish Drivers and Polish Roads

I quite often drive to Prague from Warsaw and every time I have at least one or two close encounters with death.

This is due to at least 4 factors:

Polish drivers are completely bonkers. Especially if you are in a decent car. They seem to make it their mission to drive as close up your ass as possible.

Polish Roads are in a bloody awful state of repair. They even have signs for "Koleiny" which are the deep tracks made in the road by trucks.

The death spots. They know very well where they are. They have signs for "czarny punkt" or black spot. If they know where people die why don't they fix the problem? duh!

Ever wondered why the average Pole working in a shop has a face looking like this?

The mainstream theory is it goes back to the communist days when shop assistants did not need to be polite. There were less goods than customers and the shop assistant was god, allocating the goods at a whim to the pour souls in the queue.

Well, I'm wondering now. It's 17 years since communism ended but you get the same scowl in the shops (not always I'll admit).

If you have been traveling around you probably already know that polish woman are the best....for anything. Being woman me self I have come across many pick up lines from foreigns. Trust me it is not enough that you speak other than polish language! but it is all about self-confidence. Polish guys are self-confident only when they are so drunk, they can't tell if she is worth trying. They will never even talk to a girl standing next to them even if they really like her. Here comes a chance for you foreigns!!!! ;) You have all it takes to make it happen so go for it! ROME (Reuters) - A Polish shoplifter took a very wrong turn -- towards Rome's police headquarters -- while fleeing a supermarket with two stolen bottles of alcohol.

Hearing screams of "Stop thief!", heavily armed police just outside the building cooly grabbed the 19-year-old, a police spokeswoman said on Thursday.

Stunned, the crook immediately confessed and handed over the liquor.

"Yes, I stole the bottles. But not this chocolate," he said, pointing to a candybar he had purchased earlier, according to Il Messaggero newspaper.

My wife and I had nothing but headaches dealing with the management and their contractors. They put on a nice front, take your deposit, and then you are literally at their mercy to get a quality job done.

They disregard the "contractural inspection" and basically forced us to hire another team to correct what they screwed up. The owner then told us to certify mail him our bill on another item they screwed up in our shower. We did as he said and the certified mail has continually been rejected by him and his office.
